Certified Governance Professional
Governance is a critical topic that is attracting more attention in business schools and among legislatures, with this trend only increasing. Governance aims to organize the relationship between the company and its stakeholders or a government entity with society. This one-week course covers the application of governance principles and board composition and independence in public and private sectors. Also, in this course, the competencies and duties of the board, committees, and executive management are discussed. This is followed by the competencies and duties of the different departments in the three lines of defence. Lastly, transparency, disclosure, and the responsibility towards stakeholders will be covered.

Course Methodology
The course is built on presentations by the instructor and the participants and includes exercises and case studies to be discussed in the training.
Course Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Apply international standards for board governance and independence in public and private sectors
- Advise on assigning duties to the board and to the executive management
- Assist in forming efficient board committees and indicating their duties and competencies
- Establish the second and third lines of defense and distribute the duties to the different departments
- Assess the application of the principles of transparency and disclosure, and responsibility towards stakeholders
